住んでいたマンションが大幅改築することに。
その間の仮住まいとして古い一戸建てを借りたんだけど、
集合住宅にいた身としては一戸建てがものすごく寒い！
家族は足がつったりしもやけになったり腰痛が再発したりと
被害続出。仮住まいだから改造もできないし下の家にもどれば
不要になる暖房機をいくつも増やすのも・・・とためらっていた。でも寒い！

仮住まいの近所に引退した大工の親方80代がお住まい。
世間話のついでにその寒さを愚痴ったら
「マンションから一戸建てに移るとみんなそういうなあ」と笑いながら
何か対策できるかも、と家に来てくれた。

一通り家見てくれたあと、ある一箇所指して「ここがちょうどいい。
ここにガスひっぱってストーブたいてみな」
そこは危ない場所ではないけど人のいない廊下。半信半疑で
そこでストーブつけてみた・・ら、びっくり。
家全体がほんわかとする。なんていうのかな、暖かくなるわけじゃないけど
寒くない、みたいな。

親方は家の空気の流れと間取りを読んで、言ってみれば暖房のヘソを探し出して
くれたということ。

二カッと笑った親方の金歯が神々しかったこと・・・！
